Where to get help with your Squarespace author website

One of the things I love the most about Squarespace is the wealth of support there is out there on offer to people using the platform. And it’s really useful support too!

So if you’re currently building your own author website on Squarespace (in which case, a big pat on the back from me) or you’re wondering how to update yours after a web designer built it for you, here are my top places to get help and advice.

1 Customer service

Squarespace’s own customer service is awesome. Truly. They have a really responsive team who know their stuff.

You can’t phone them – which I know may seem annoying – but you can send an email or log onto live chat, and they will get back to you asap. Even as a designer, I use the customer support all the time and the people who have dealt with my issues have always been great.

You can access Squarespace’s customer support here – it’s best if you are already logged in.

2  Squarespace video library

If, like me, you find video explanations the easiest to follow when it comes to tech stuff, then you’ll find plenty of helpful walk-throughs on everything from adding images to adding passwords to your pages in the comprehensive Squarespace video library.

Find it here.

3 Squarespace’s forum

You might not even know about this, but Squarespace also has an excellent forum for all Squarespace users. There are some seriously clever and helpful people on there, so if you’re super stuck with something, it’s always worth posting a question on the forum to see if anyone has the answer.

Again, you’ll need to be logged in for the forum to work.

Visit the Squarespace forum.

4 The Squarespace experts

There are lots of Squarespace experts online who regularly help me solve issues and provide me with inspiration. They’re basically my online idols. On their sites you’ll find really informative blogs, video guides, resources to download and lots more to help you with your Squarespace author website.

Here are some of my favourites (best of all, they’re all women, which makes me very happy in this male-dominated field):

Inside the Square

Kerstin Martin

Paige Brunton

Kath O’Malley

Christy Price

5 Book me for an hour!

Last but not least – if you really don’t know where to get started but want to try building your author website yourself, then why not book some time with me?!

I offer Squarespace training, along with adhoc Squarespace support, and I absolutely love working with authors who’ve decided to get a grip of this tech thing once and for all and DIY their sites!

So get in touch and let me help you get started – I promise it’ll save you time (and you never know, we might even have some fun…).
