Project Spotlight: carirosen.com

Very excited to share my latest project - a shiny new website for author and editor Cari Rosen. This was a really fun project that required quite a bit of creative thinking on my part but I am so happy with the finished result. Cari’s new website is a ‘one-page wonder’ which means all the content is hosted on a single, long, beautiful page. You can jump between sections on the page using the navigation images at the top.

Find out more about the project…

The Brief

Cari had a very outdated website that she'd had designed back in 2010. It wasn't mobile responsive and was very un-user-friendly. Cari was also unable to update it herself.

Cari wanted something simple and striking to serve as an online portfolio that she could update in the future - potentially adding a blog to later down the line - but that wouldn't need regular maintenance.

She was very keen on her old website’s design so we took inspiration from its theme - of a pinboard with post-it notes - to create something similar but more contemporary, and easier to use.

Key to this project was finding a font that had the right feel - hand-written but not twee - and a rich background colour to make the site and its content really stand out.
