My number one Squarespace tip

squarespace tip

Today I wanted to share with you my number one Squarespace tip! I’m not sure many people are aware of this feature, and even though I’ve mentioned it a few times in other posts now, I thought it was so useful it deserved a post all of its own.

What is it? I hear you cry.

It’s the Squarespace search back-end search facility!

What a mouthful 😆

Let me explain…

How to find things quickly in the back-end of Squarespace

There is a brilliant shortcut to finding ANYTHING in the back end of Squarespace.

It’s become especially useful lately since Squarespace have been messing around with all the settings in the back-end navigation, and moving things about, making it sometimes hard to find what you’re looking for.

So instead, simply hit the forward slash button on your keyboard (/) and you’ll see a search box pop up on the screen.

You can type whatever it is you are looking for in the back-end into this box and the setting should appear, meaning you can bypass those confusing navigation menus altogether.

This shortcut works in both 7.0 and 7.1!

Below you can watch a super-quick video demo…

Prefer written instructions?

Here you go:

1) Log into the back-end of your Squarespace author website

2) Hit the forward slash key on your keyboard [/]

3) A pop-up search box will appear

4) Type whatever it is you are looking for into the search box and hit return

5) You’ll be taken to that setting in the back-end!

That’s it! Hopefully you’ll find this as much of a time-saver as I did when I first discovered it.

I use it all the time to find things instead of having to hunt through the navigation menu on the left panel.
